SSIET has two student-driven companies
SSIET, an institute of engineering and technology in Coimbatore, India has set up two student-driven companies. It has trained over 250 students and 20 faculty members on different courses such as CSWA – Certified Solid Works Associate, and CSWA – Certified Solid Works Professional. In addition, it has been added a Siemens PLC Automation lab.
These student-driven companies have helped students work together to create innovative products and services. SSIET has also helped students develop a strong entrepreneurial spirit. In fact, many students have received multiple offers from recruiters. In 2012, over 100 students were placed in India, and abroad. In 2010, SSIET’s first graduating batch received 164 placements.
SSIET also has a strong industry academia program. It has trained over 150 students in industry-based academia programs. In addition, it has a student-run incubator called Sling Health. This incubator brings together students with a wide range of backgrounds and helps them develop projects for local nonprofits. It has also helped students get involved in the community by conducting tech projects for nonprofits.
